Weekly Chit-Chat
Hello, September!
Hello, September.
I hope you had a good holiday weekend and this short week wasn’t too bad! Over the weekend we enjoyed some time in the pool (might be our last of the year?!?) and I managed to sneak in a bit of reading. Otherwise, it was a pretty normal weekend for us.
Labor Day weekend is always a bit sad as we say goodbye to summer, BUT I am so excited for the ‘ber seasons. I’m done with humidity, sweating, and bugs. Bring on the magical moments of fall and winter.
Things I’m looking forward to in September:
Cooler weather means cozy cardigans and oversized sweatshirt season.
We’re getting closer to the release of Wicked and I noticed that Aerie has a collaboration and it’s so cute! (I really can’t wait to see this movie)
Rewatching Gilmore Girls. It’s become an annual tradition I look forward to
All my fall reads I have planned (more on that in my next blog post) but right now I’m reading The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. I am addicted and only allow myself one a week. (I also sometimes just order a Nitro Cold Brew with the Pumpkin Cream on top)
Football. While my husband watches football, I read. (I did watch Hard Knocks with him since it featured the Bears and yes, I did get emotional when they cut the players, ha)
Celebrating my niece turning 5 years old. She’s having a Taylor Swift themed party.
More updates to Simply Stine. I’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes.
If you purchase something through the links I post in this newsletter, I may earn an affiliate commission, at no cost to you. If something is gifted by a brand, I will state that in my review. I appreciate your support of Simply Stine!
I love these shoes. I’ve purchased two pairs and they’re my absolute favorite if I’m doing a lot of walking. They’re very cushiony and I need to replace a pair of mine that are quite old.
This foundation was all over social media before it released. It’s a lightweight foundation that can be built-up and it’s supposed to give an airbrushed appearance to the skin. I haven’t received mine in the mail yet, but I’ll report back. I have talked to several people who have used it and loved it.
*Update. I did get a chance to try this when I popped into the Sephora store. It felt very light and I loved the coverage so I can’t wait to try my shade.
The price tag on this concealer. WOW. I feel like research must be done because I’m curious. She partnered with Augustinus Bader once again, so it does contain skincare ingredients. It’s said to help with dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. There are 16 shades available at the moment. I’m VERY curious.

Somewhere I read about this book and added it to my Goodreads account. I decided this would be a good library add and it finally became available. I’ve been listening to the audiobook and I really like it so far.
This is the Read With Jenna book club pick for September and I’ve been seeing it everywhere online. My SIL picked this up on BOTM (we check-in with each other to make sure we don’t get duplicate) and it actually became available at my library. Will report back!
I’m pretty sure this was a TikTok favorite read last fall? Anyways, it’s available on Kindle for super cheap and it’s supposed to be a good read?!? I have heard its a tad spicy, but nothing too much. I’m all about a good fall read.
Also….
Did you miss my last post where I shared more current reads?
Manucurist (use code NAILSOFSTINE to save $$) I’m loving the Dark Pansy shade and I really want to try the Utopia shade. G
I started going back to the nail salon and getting SNS and yeah, it wrecked my nails once again. When will I learn!? Anyways, it’s back to using my Manucurist system. I love these gel-like polishes because they are so incredibly easy to remove.
I love the Glossier You Perfume and I was so excited when I saw that they released a body butter. They actually had it in-store when I popped in and I tried it. HOLY HELL it smells exactly like the fragrance and it is very hydrating, without being really greasy. There was only 2 of the body butter in my store, and I bought both! (My MIL loved it so much she wanted one as well)
The fragrance lasted quite a while on my skin, so this would be excellent layered with the perfume.
Tell Me Lies season 2 is out and I am so excited. Season 1 had me HATING the main character, Stephen, who is Lucy’s love interest. He’s a total piece of garbage. I said it before, this book (yes, it’s based on a book) should be required reading for all women! Watch on Hulu
The Perfect Couple just released on Netflix and I can’t wait to watch this series! Yes, it’s also based on Elin Hilderbrand’s book.
