It’s crazy that this will be the last newsletter for May 2024! I feel like the month went by so quickly. Maybe I say that every month?!? I’m looking forward to June: Pool days, BBQ’s, Peach Milkshakes returning to Chick-fil-A, home projects wrapping up, and hopefully more down time.
May has been a really challenging month around here. I haven’t gone into specifics yet, but I will share more when I’m ready. When you begin “parenting” your own parent, is a very eye-opening moment as an adult. Dealing with dr’s and new medications, and just trying to get answers for someone is not only frustrating, but also very exhausting.
I’m trying to work on some new summer recipes to add in rotation. Yes, I still hate the task of coming up with recipes to make each day. I’m working on getting better at it. Here’s a couple of recipes that we’ve had recently:
This Cilantro Lime Chicken is so good! A great summer recipe.
I’ve been using this DRMTLGY Tinted Moisturizer for almost a month now and I really do like it. My skin hasn’t had any issues with it (thank goodness) and it gives great protection. It is very, very sheer so don’t expect any coverage. I think it really just gives a good luminous glow to the skin. I also just saw that they released a matte version for those who don’t want the glow!

We just finished the season finale of Loot and we loved this season. It’s quick half hour episodes and they were so funny. This show isn’t talked about enough. So good.
I never thought I’d enjoy this show as much as I do? While I find the concept of “space” interesting, I’m not into it as much as my husband. However, this show is really good. It is on its fourth season and it starts out in the 1960’s during the space race. We’re now in the 2000’s in the latest season.
I saw this in Sephora and they were out of the shade I’d purchase or else I would have. I like the idea of a serum-like bronzer, especially in the summer. This also has skincare ingredients, but I haven’t research it enough to go into detail yet. There are also two different applications available. Overall, I’m just really curious about this release. Will report back!
THEN:
The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
I enjoyed this one. I gave it 3.5 stars. A good twisty thriller that was an easy read.
Now:
Real Americans by Rachel Khong
This has been recommended by so many people. We’ve started a “book club” in my family and we all have this on our to-read list.
Next: Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand
I don’t think you can even consider it to be Summer if you haven’t read an Elin Hilderbrand book. This is her last book in her Nantucket series and I can’t wait to read this one.
